MCX Can Am Commander Turbos

MCX-USA is the undisputed leader in UTV turbos. Partnered with turbo experts MC Xpress of Sweden, MCX makes the highest quality, largest selection and most reliable turbos and engine performance products on the market. The release of their Rhino 660 Turbo in 2007 began a rich explosion of Turbo applications as the UTV market continued to grow even in a recession. Their expanded product offering covers virtually every performance UTV on the market, including the two Turbo systems for the Can Am Commander detailed below. In the last year several applications have been added to their product line, including a turbo for Arctic Cats’s new Wildcat, another for Polaris’ best selling RZR XP 900, and even a turbo kit for the workhorse Ranger 800. There is also a turbo kit in the works for the exciting Polaris RZR XP 1000 as well as several Polaris RZR accessories.

The addition of the standard MCX turbo kit to the Can Am Commander will increase the Commander’s crank horsepower an incredible 65 HP! The turbo kit includes CP low compression pistons, an air to air intercooler, and it operates flawlessly at 10 PSI on 92 octane pump gas. The turbo kit also includes MCX’s own Generation 5 EFI Controller to deliver the needed fuel thru two secondary injectors. The turbo control valve maintains sea level horsepower no matter your elevation. Fuel is delivered to the engine through two secondary injectors both mounted in the custom intake plenum.

TheEngine’s compression is reduced with the use of low compression pistons from CP, and lowering the compression ratio helps prevent detonation that is all too common in turbo equipped engines. MCX’s air to air intercooler reduces intake temperature and combines with lowered compression ratio pistons, to allow 10 PSI of boost pressure. This allows owners to safely run their vehicles on premium 92 octane pump gas. MCX also includes their standard Oiled Foam UNI Filter, as well as a custom aluminumHigh Flow muffler. The turbo addition does require a re-tuning of the Commander’s clutch, replacing the springs and wieghts to fit your application, tire size, elevation and other factors.MCX’s kit uses a mitsubishi turbo, stainless steel header, and boost gauge as well. MCX also makes a low boost turbo for about a 25% increase in rear wheel horsepower.
